Can you believe it? A 60-year Reunion! For us! Let’s face it, folks, most of us are octogenarians, as in 80—eight-zero. So now is the time to gather round, revisit the scenes of our youth, and renew old ties. The place: Cornell University. The dates: June 4-7, 2009. We, Doris and Ken and President Jack Gilbert, have been meeting since early fall to line up a fun-filled weekend. We want you to join us in the celebration. Sixty years, however lived, are worth commemorating and sharing with classmates. There will be many opportunities for reacquainting—at dinners, at headquarters, roaming the campus, in the tents. We want you to BE THERE !
The class headquarters is at the Hurlburt House on Triphammer Road. Every room has a private bath. That’s where our class tent will be; that’s where the clerks will be; that’s where you’ll get your special ’49 hat and visor; that’s where you can get tickets for special events; that’s where you can relax in the rec room with a piano and easy chairs; that’s where Thursday’s outdoor bam-bam BBQ will be; that’s where we’ll have piano/clarinet entertainment Friday and Saturday nights; that’s where we’ll have ice cream and singalong and where you’ll you see all your friends. We expect over 90 of us will be housed at HQ with the balance of the class at the Statler. Shuttles will run every few minutes between our HQ and the campus so you can move easily to other events. You don’t want to miss all that. You’ve got to BE THERE! Your classmates want you to BE THERE!
Almost 100 classmates already have indicated their plans to return. Did you know that all we need is 27 more to break the All Time Record? It’s true. The Class of ’44 set that in 2004 at their 60th. Let’s break the record this June !We are all going to BE THERE!
